NEWNAN, Ga. – A Newnan High School student was caught with a taser after class was dismissed on Wednesday, according to Coweta County Schools.
A school resource officer confronted the student, who was in the school’s bus loading zone, after class was dismissed.
The Coweta County Central Office and Newnan Police Department were notified, according to a letter to parents from Chase Puckett, principal of Newnan High School. The release also said, “appropriate disciplinary and legal action is being taken.”
The letter also asked students to remember to only bring “approved items” to campus.
The district would not comment on what disciplinary actions the student could face.
