Man shot during SWAT situation in Forsyth County

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Deputies in Forsyth County were forced to shoot a man after he barricaded himself inside a home, prompting a SWAT situation late Wednesday night.

The incident unfolded at a home on the 3800 block of Grand Prix Street in Cumming.

Deputies were called to the scene after two men, one of which was armed, were seen walking along the street. When deputies spotted them, one of the men ran inside a home and barricaded himself inside.

A SWAT team was then called to the scene.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department says the man then came out of the home with a gun in his hand. He was shot by deputies.

No word on the man’s condition at this time.
