GBI responds to officer-involved shooting in Forsyth County


FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating what led up to an officer-involved shooting in Forsyth County.

We have a reporter and photographer at the scene talking to authorities about what led up to the shooting for live updates on Channel 2 Action News This Morning. 

Forsyth County sheriff’s officials tell Channel 2 Action News that they were called to the 100 block of Grand Prix Street in Cumming just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The call resulted in an officer-involved shooting, they said. 

Channel 2‘s Steve Gehlbach saw authorities at the scene early Thursday morning.

He learned that two men were fighting at the location, and it led to a standoff. 

One man came outside with a gun, and deputies fired at him,

There is no word on the suspect’s condition, authorities said.
